Panoramic views of Positano, Capri and the
Tyrrhenian Sea from Casa Angelina, Praiano, 2025
Nestled on the cliffs above the sea in Praiano and just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Positano, Casa Angelina is an immaculate sanctuary where lightness, grace, and modern serenity redefine La Dolce Vita. The hotel has just 36 rooms and suites and embodies understated elegance and a refined sense of calm where modern design meets a genuine warmth of Italian hospitality. I have visited the Costiere Amalfi many times and stayed at extraordinary five-star gems but this one stands out as a haven of tranquillity because of its perfect location and also because of its white-on-white design. Every space offers panoramic views of Positano, Capri and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Every day, we enjoyed unrivalled sunsets from our room’s immense terrace. We arrived at the end of October when it’s really heaven on earth. As Annarita Aprea, the charming director of sales and marketing at the Casa Angelina said, “The ‘cognoscenti’ have traded summer stays for autumn ones. It has confidently taken its place as the crown jewel of the year”. So the effects of over-tourism and climate change also have positive sides as long as the travel industry responds appropriately. Everything at the Casa Angelina is exemplary, not least the Michelin-starred dinner at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Un Piano Nel Cielo. Under the direction of Executive Chef Leopoldo Elefante, the cuisine is dedicated to Campania’s rich culinary traditions. Signature dishes include the exquisite herb-crusted lamb, the john dory and the red mullet. Fabulous. Alla prossima!
