Interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel has reinterpreted the neo-Basque style, blending bold colours and warm materials in Le Talaia Hotel & Spa, Biarritz 2025
Le Talaia Hotel & Spa Biarritz opened its doors last summer in this prime location in Biarritz close to the beach and the iconic Côte des Basques. The elegant hotel features 149 rooms and offers breathtaking views over the Côte des Basques, the Atlantic ocean and the surrounding mountains from the iconic panoramic rooftop. This attracted visitors from all over when it was a Radisson property but now there is a difference. Previously there was an immense pool which occupied most of the rooftop but since the renovation the pool is now smaller and in a different location. This has the advantage that guests can fully enjoy the terrace or the new La Petite Plage restaurant for lunch or dinner, which is a fantastic improvement. At La Petite Plage, Chef Eric Frechon blends French and Basque flavours in a menu inspired by regional products. A Mediterranean touch adds warmth and conviviality to shared dishes. The rooms and suites are designed as havens of tranquillity, featuring natural textures and calming tones. Natural materials, stone, wood and whitewashed pine interact with local colours and soft textures, creating a sense of understated luxury and warm simplicity. Le Talaia pays homage to the Biarritz spirit as reflected throughout the property, especially in the spaces inspired by the ocean, wind and Basque culture. And there is, of course, the Le Talaia Spa by Cinq Mondes where you can experience among other things the famous Kobido treatment. It’s clear that Le Talaia is a wonderful new asset for Biarritz and the Basque country.
